Where are you getting ready?

Hi all, I wanted to know where (hotel room, room in the venue, etc) you’re getting ready at. The location for my wedding only has a bathroom (with two stalls and 1 sink; it’s pretty small) for getting ready in so I want to explore some other options for the big day.

The Holly Vault Chapel just updated the basement for an intimate space for bridesmaids and bride to get ready

I went to a salon for hair and makeup and changed into my dress in the handicap stall in their bathroom. I am not kidding, my friend was waiting outside to zip me up. It was a pretty nice bathroom, I gotta say. I will be honest: Getting ready with others is unappealing to me. She then drove me to the venue. My two attendants were my college age sons so I was the only girl up there.

I'll be getting ready at my moms house. The ceremony is at the local church and reception is 40 mins away so no need to get a hotel room to get ready in.

I’m going to a salon for hair / makeup and then getting dressed at the venue. Our venue is a gorgeous, historic Victorian inn and they have large rooms available for getting ready. However it was the most stress free choice for us to go to a salon.

All 5 of my bridesmaids will be bringing everything they need to rehearsal the night before and that includes their dresses and shoes. We all will get dress at the Church. The area is big enough.

We rented a house on Vrbo that is 3 miles from our venue and sleeps 14 people. Since we're having a morning wedding, we figured the house would be a better option than renting hotel rooms. Now my bridal party doesn't have to cram into a single room to get ready at 4:45AM. Plus, it's a historic farmhouse and will be beautiful for photos. We'll also be using it for an after-party for the wedding party. Look on Vrbo and AirBnB -- I'm sure there are some good options nearby!

I don't know yet, but I've considered: renting an airbnb, using a friend's airbnb who is traveling to the city of the wedding, a hotel, the salon of the hair and makeup people even though they are willing to travel to me, renting a space hourly... I haven't decided yet!

Some hotels have bridal suites specifically for this - you could try that? We opted to buy out our venue for the entire day so we could have everything we need in one place and limit the transportation headaches.

I’m getting ready at the hotel rt next door to my venue. Both the bridal party and the groomsmen will have a room so the photographer and videographer can go back and forth easily

My FH and I are eloping next month in Iceland, the country we met in. I’m most excited about getting ready with him in our matching “after this we’re getting pizza” t-shirts. Smiley smile

Great answer. I’m still trying to process everything and the big Day is October 20th. I will probably check in the hotel the night before. My townhouse is pretty big but I live on a busy street and it will cause a lot of attention.

Our reception venue has the possibility for ceremonies as well (quasi-secluded woods, but still close to town) so the owner included 2 dressing rooms. Nothing fancy. Big wall mirror, counter and a clothes rack but spacious enough for me and my 3 bridesmaids and the moms. So we are taking so I dont have to book a night at a hotel. (I'm not getting ready at home because I have 2 huskies and dont want fur on my dress).

I am pretty sure we're getting ready at the venue - Mountain Lodge Flat Rock. But, I don't want my guests (staying at same location) to see me, so we are considering an alternate hotel room for that day.
