?? When you put down the Aisle Runners does it come up or move?

wonderful moment, on January 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I was thinking to already have my aisle runner out before the guests come. But some may be walking on it and I don't want it to move on the floor. Is it like light paper or anything? Or once you put it down it will sick to the ground?

I have heard they do move especially if they are cheap runners, but if you get a good quality one you might be ok

Than that is bad. It won't be on carpet it would be on tile flooring.

At weddings I've been to, it's always rolled up at the front of the pews, and two of the ushers will unroll it right after the mother of the bride sits down...so that's how I've always planned on doing it, so that it doesnt get messed up

I am not going to have ushers. I wanted to all be layed out. And I am thinking that FH grandmother may be in her wheel chair. O boy!!! Do you think I can do with out and just have candels light the aisle. Spending $20 -25 bulks on something that will be used for about 15 -30 mins may not be worth it. I need all the money I can save.

Thanks JulyBride. What would you had done differently? Would you had waited to put it out or just not have one at all? If I really had the money I would do a red carpet event theme like hollywood.

Yes do without it...it will be less to worry about as you are walking down the aisle.

Thanks for that info. I do not want to trip over it and I can see it now over 100 people walking on it. The kids better not knock over the candels. Good thing I do not have many coming.

If the aisle runner is on a tile floor that it will move and/or get dirty if your guests walk on it. It won't really matter if it's a cheap one or an expensive one. What I suggest is that you have a groomsman unroll it down the aisle after the guests have been seated and just a couple of minutes before the procession begins. This is pretty typical and should work out well for you.

I recommend NOT having an isle runner. They always wrinkle, move, are crooked and get dirty. They look horrible in person and in photos. Instead use a TON of rose petals to make the pathway. It looks gorgeous and CLASSY. Just remember to block the isle with a ribbon across it so that guest don't walk down the isle.

Thanks for the advice. I really like the rose pedals and I was thinking candels as well. I am just worrying about my dress going to hit it.

I am using a isle runner scattered with leaves (oct 2010), but I am going to block off the main isle so nobody can walk down it. (There is another isle on either side of the pews)

Most weddings I've seen them at there was two guys who unroll right before the bride walks down.

The most usual arrangement is for the aisle runner to be rolled down just before the bride's entrance. Occasionally, it's rolled out before the first bride's maid. We strongly recommend that it not be down before guests arrive unless you intend to block the center aisle and require your guests to enter via side aisles. However, this arrangement can cause confusion and you must be sure that there ARE side aisles. Many catering halls don't have them.

We like it when the runner is rolled down just before the bride because it is our cue to change the music. ;o)
