When to unroll the aisle runner?

C + R, on October 29, 2014 at 9:07 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

I looked on Google and found a lot of different answers to this question, so I figured I would see what my WW gals/guys are doing. If you are using an aisle runner, when are you planning to unroll it? Before the bridal party enters? Before the flower girl enters (so she can scatter flower petals on it)? Or just before the bride enters??

Is there a protocol for this? Or is it just a personal preference thing?

I'm so confused. My wedding brain is fried, haha.

Thanks =)

    Our DOC unrolled ours after the parents were seated, and before the bridal party came out. We didn't want the parents/grandparents to have any possibility of tripping since we had it on grass.

    We do have an aisle runner that we are borrowing from the venue, they recommended rolling it out and taping it down when setting up, so that's what we are doing. I'm not too worried about it, it's not a big deal to me. It's a burlap aisle runner with lace along the edges that would be a pain for anyone to roll out during the ceremony.

    This is a good question. Adding to my watch list and bumping.

    @RebeccaHope, we had the same type of aisle runner. We had those tent pegs that we could have used to secure it more if we needed to, but it wasn't necessary. Best thing I can tell you is that if you don't have a DOC, then I'd just have it rolled out on the floor before everything starts, and maybe block off your aisle.

    I am planning to have it rolled out after the mothers are seated and the groom takes his place.
