When to start premarital counseling?

FH aunt is marrying us and requested that we do a program she uses called Prepare and Enrich. Since we live in different states we are doing the program with a counselor I had been seeing (since she already knew issues, etc). They said this is supposed to be around 6/8 sessions, depending. We started the last week of Feb. We have gone every week (sometimes skipping a week). We will do the last 2 sessions after the wedding. This is a few general program if you are looking for one to use. If you are going through your minister, etc, then they may have their own set of requirements for when everything needs to be done.

Who do you want to officiate? Some officiants won't schedule anything until you have at least started the counseling.

Usually your pastor/officiant will want to meet with you to discuss plans of pre-marital counseling and when and where to do it! Have you booked one yet? Maybe talk to them and see what they recommend as a timeline for that. =)

I loved the engagement retreat we went on. I think the earlier the better since it's all about helping you two communicate better with one another. why wait? especially since you'll be so busy the month before the wedding

Our officiant requested that we start premarital counseling two months before the wedding our first session has been scheduled for 4/28/15.
