When to start packing for...

I am in the same boat! I leave the Monday afternoon after the wedding on Saturday but Sunday is our gift opening! I think I am going to start putting stuff together the week before and then I can add in last minute things on the Sunday night/Monday morning.

Yeah... Im confused and like I said I dont want to leave it to the last minute and then go crazy at the end!!!! ;-(

I'm a procrastinator and will probably pack no earlier than Friday afternoon between the shower and the rehearsal dinner-the wedding is Saturday at 2:15 and we are leaving Sunday morning at 6:15 (so so so early...)

I think that a week or 2 before is a good idea. If you are like me you should make a list of everything you need. That way when the wedding date gets closer and you have 12 million other things on your mind you won't forget anything.

Lets see my wedding ends at 11pm sat night and i have to be in LAx @ 4:30am cuz my flight is 6am..sooo i will prob be pack on wednesday! LOL..my rehearsal stuff is thurs and fri i just want to RELAX and sat's the big day sooo..yeah..i'm looking at wednesday

I'll probably start creating a list and laying stuff out that I want to pack a couple weeks before the wedding...that way I'll have plenty of time to think of the things I'd usually forget. I won't put anything in suitcases until a couple days before the wedding though to avoid wrinkeling as much as possible.

That being said, I've been shopping for my honeymoon for months now! So far I have 5 bathingsuits and 5 dresses(we are going to St. Lucia for 11 days). I need a couple more dresses, cover-ups, and shoes and I'm all set! Finished FI's honeymoon shopping last week! yay!

I'm not packing for a honeymoon but whenever I go on a trip somewhere, I always start packing whatever can be packed right now ( bathing suit, towels, flip flops, travel size bottles of whatever you might need.. if you need any of that) and then stuff like your tooth brush, hair brushes, clothes that you wear all the time but want to take with you, pack at the last possible moment.

I agree with Lisa. I pack the stuff that you know you're gonna need for your trip but aren't likely to need "right now" and then all the stuff that you're likely to wear again between now and then, I'd leave for the last laundry day before traveling.
