When would you send out your save the dates for a September 12,2020 wedding?

Hi date twin! I'm planning on sending mine in November of this year. My FH was like we could do it around Christmas but I didn't like that idea with all the holiday mail. So we will be sending save the dates the week before Thanksgiving. I'm not sure what the exact date is but that week.

I would send them out now, then send your invites out about 6-8 weeks before your wedding.
I’m getting married December 14th, 2019. I’m sending out my save the dates August 10th. Then I’m going to sending out my wedding invites October 10th.

I think it depends on whether your guests are mostly local or not. If a lot of your guests have to travel send them earlier. Maybe 8-10 months or so. I sent mine in April for my wedding next January. If they're mostly local, I think I've heard around 6 months.

I wouldn’t send them any earlier than 10 months before. Maybe a year if it was a destination wedding where people had to travel to a different country. If it’s local 6-8 months before is fine.

We sent save the dates to out of state guests only for our july 2020 wedding. I'm worried about rsvps being in on the wire though.

As some others have said, usually 6-8 months before is recommended, unless a destination wedding then anywhere from 8-12 months is probably better.

Our wedding is end of September and we were thinking to send them after all the holidays. Probably second week of January.

6-8 months before your wedding. So around January I'd say.

Hey! We’re getting married 9/12/2020 too! Our wedding is in state, but about 2.5+ hours travel for us and 95% of our guests (with a handful coming from out of state). We’re planning the ceremony to be early evening, so most everybody will need to figure out lodging. We’re going to send save the dates around 9/1/19 because there’s also an event going on in a nearby town over the weekend we picked and hotels will book up. I still need to get some more info about hotel room block options, I just want to make sure everyone who wants to has plenty of time to make arrangements. We’re also looking at getting married at a group campground, so anyone who wanted to could camp overnight for free. Happy planning!! Congratulations!! Sept 12, 2020 will be here before we know it!
