When to send std and Invites

So I’m getting married in December 2018 am I was wondering when is the best time to send the STD and how far apart should the invites be sent right after. My sister think I should send the STD in June and Invitation in August. Any thoughts would gladly appreciate any input

Hey Jorgia, typical etiquette suggests STDs are sent out 6-8 months in advance, though it can be earlier if it is a destination wedding or lots of your guests will have a long way to travel, but no earlier than one year (or people forget or lose the STD). Invitations usually go 6-8 weeks before the wedding with the RSVP deadline about a week before your caterer and venue need their final headcount, to give you some time to call anyone who forgets to RSVP.

Totally agree, I'll be following this timeline! Our wedding is out of state for my entire side of the guest list so we are sending std in March for a January wedding. Invites will go out either the last week of November or first week of December (our wedding is end of Jan. 2019), and RSVP will be 3 weeks before our wedding date, which gives a week to track people down as our caterer needs a headcount 2 weeks out.

We sent our our Save the Date in the beginning on December 2017 for a June 2018 Wedding. It is in Temecula, which is sort of in the middle of both our families.

Invitations will be sent out Mid March-Early April.

I’m getting married in December too! I’m just send STDs out ASAP- (probably around March or April?) holidays are busy and want to get on peoples radars now! Congrats to hoh
