When to send save the dates

Tiffany, on July 26, 2019 at 9:28 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 17
I am getting married April 10,2020. When would be a good time to send out save the dates? I don’t want to send them too far in advanced.

Save the dates go out 6-8 months before the wedding. You could extend it to 10 months ahead if you're having a destination wedding.

We are June 6, 2020. Save the dates are going out the end of September and invites are going out in February.

Ok thank you! It’s not a DW but I do have a few out of town guests so I should probably get them out soon.

I would send them this month to give guests enough time to actually "save" your date. I personally don't think less than 8 months away is enough notice for someone to avoid making vacation/other plans that would conflict

I just sent mine out for next March. Anytime between 6-12 months is good.

My wedding is almost two years from now, so I had the same question. I was told that save the dates are meant to be a place holder for wedding invitations when it’s a longer engagement. So from what I have been told, send those 12-8 months out with a note that the formal invite is coming. Then send the invite about 3-4 months in advance. Hope this helps!

I'd send them anytime between now and October, ideally on the earlier end since you have out-of-town guests coming.

We sent ours out at 9 months because we have some OOT guests. Anywhere between 6-10 months is normal.

We're sending ours out a year in advance because its labor day weekend. I think you're fine to send them out as soon as you're ready!
