When to send out our save the dates

CountryBride, on April 17, 2021 at 10:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 6
I have never done this before our wedding is a year from Friday. 85percent of our guests are coming from out of town. Do we send every person a save a date? or is it one per adult in family?

My future MIL and I were talking about this recently. We decided to do 1 per household. except in a few situations where there are adult children living at home still, then the parents will get a separate one, and the adult children will get their own (basically just to recognize them as their own adult even though they live at home)

Agree with Dawn- usually it’s 1 per household except for the adults living at home. I sent mine out 10 months prior to my wedding.

One save the date per household or couple. They are typically sent 6-8 months before tour wedding. 10 months for a destination wedding.

This, plus I'll add we only sent STD's to immediate family, Wedding party and those who would be traveling from out of town. You can send to everyone if you want, but we didn't feel the need to "waste money" on sending them to all guests. We just wanted those who had to make serious travel arrangements had all the information they needed to book through our discounted hotel blocks etc.

They are addressed to all invited guests regardless of distant or local. To give them a heads up to schedule time off, save up money, make travel arrangements. 6-10 months is when they are sent out.

We did ours a year in advance since we have some out-of-town and international guests.
