When to send out invites

Alex, on May 14, 2019 at 12:26 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

Hello! I am getting married September 21st 2019 with close family and friends and then doing a big BBQ with extended family and more friends the following day. How far out should I send my invites? We are mailing invites and then having people email their RSVPs to our wedding email. So waiting to get RSVPs back in the mail shouldn't be an issue.

I would send them out the end of July.

I would send them out 6 weeks in advance! I know you won't be waiting for RSVP's to come back but you still want guests to be able to get off work or do whatever they may need to do to attend your wedding so you still want to give them enough of a heads up.

    6-8 weeks before the wedding.

We're getting married Sept 21, too, and I'm planning to send out our invites around mid-July. The only exception I'd consider is if you have people coming from out of town and you didn't send out STDs - then you might want to send the invites a few weeks earlier to allow time for making travel plans.

Agreed. I would stick to the 6-8 week timeline. It gives people time to put it in their schedule.
