When to send out hotel information for out of town guests?

Maya, on October 8, 2017 at 12:41 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

What is a good amount of time to set up and send hotel block information to my guests. Im thinking some of my guests particularly the ones in graduate school will want that information sooner so they can plan for the hotel expense. What is the typical timeline for sending out the hotel information?

Put the hotel information on your website. The website can be listen on the save the dates and the invitations. If the block closes at a certain time, include that information as well.

I put our hotel info on our save the dates, which went out 6 months before the wedding. People started booking right away so I'm glad we did that. We also put it on our website

Okay I have this question too. FH's family is all out of town and super anxious about booking a hotel, to the point where his grandma called the hotel and asked about wedding blocks. I want to get a hotel block, but geez we haven't even taken engagement pictures for our save the dates! We RARELY see or talk to his family, and FH's grandma shouldn't be calling random hotels about room blocks. Am I crazy that room blocks aren't on my to do list yet? Not to be rude but how do they even know they're invited? Lol

It's never too early to reserve a room block as long as the hotel will allow you to do it. And you can put info on the website or save the dates or an insert in the invite if you don't have either of those things.

Lols @ Katiejade. Thats pretty strange. My FHs grandmother bought it up concerned as well. I guess ill get those set up ASAP. I want to give people plenty of finanical planning time. Especially if they dont really have a sensible option to go home immediately after the reception because my reception will be in the evening. I just called one hotel to check and its okay to book the blocks earlier so I guess as long as you have your venue booked just book the blocks too.

My FH and I put hotel info on the back of our STDs. A lot of the family is out of town so we wanted to give them plenty of time to plan.
