When to send invites

Fmv, on March 4, 2020 at 11:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 9
I posted a few weeks ago asking when to send invites, but i forgot to mention our hotel deadline on here.

Wedding is Friday October 23rd. Head count is due October 10th, my RSVP date is October 1st.
Our hotel block closes September 22nd.I was originally going to send them the first week of September, but now im thinking is that enough time for people to make hotel reservations or save for the hotel if need be.So knowing all this info, when do i send my invitations?

Personally, I would send them out right at the two month mark. So August 23rd. That'll give your guests a month to make hotel arrangements and about 5-6 weeks to RSVP

The sooner the better. If you have lots of people coming from out of town, i'd air on the side of providing too much time. I would also bump your RSVP date much sooner. You don't want to be calling family super last minute for those who forgot. That is what stressed me out the most

I would send it around August 20th that way it has time to reach oot guests. This also gives them about a month to respond.

I would send them out in the mid of August.

I don't know if you already have a site where you want to order your invitations, but WW has a promo code (NWPD20) for https://www.elli.com/ where you can get 20% off your stationary if you order between 3/1 and 3/30.

Did you send save the dates or anything else that has hotel info on? If so I would send the invites when you originally planned, maybe a week earlier if you want

That's tricky. I'd call the hotel (or whoever you reserved the hotel block through) and ask if they'd be willing to extend the date to 10/1, or if people will still be able to get the group rate if they book after the deadline. If not, I would personally order new RSVPs with 9/22 as the reply date. If that's not realistic, let the people who you think will need to stay in the hotel know about the deadline when you send the invitations.
Also, I agree that about 2 months ahead is an appropriate time to send the invitations.
