When to send invites

Steph, on June 9, 2020 at 2:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
My wedding is supposed to be Friday October 23. I sent the save the dates early March. Does anyone know exactly when I should send the formal Invitations out? Also when should I tell the guests to RSVP by?

Invitations should go out 6-8 weeks before your wedding. Your RSVP deadline should be 1-2 weeks before your final headcount is due to vendors to allow you time to check in with stragglers.

My wedding is October 3rd. We didn’t send save the dates other then to out of town guest. We are sending on invites mid July. Our rsvp is august 31st to give me a week to get a final number for our vender who needs the number by September 10th.

Wedding date twin! We already sent out formal invitations and gave them until August 1 to give me RSVP because it gives me some wiggle room to call/verify with everyone who doesn’t RSVP in time before we have to get final counts to vendors by September deadlines. We have a lot of people out of town so we wanted to get the invites out ASAP so people could figure out travel arrangements and if they feel comfortable going to an out of town gathering during this uncertain time.

We sent ours (and typically receive) invites 3 months out.

Invites should be 6-8 weeks out, but can be earlier if you have a large OOT group. I'd RSVP by Oct. 1 - about 3 weeks before the date, so probably 2 weeks before the head count is needed, and it's easy for guests to remember.

I'm getting married September 19. We sent invites out last month because I was stressing and also was excited to send them. Our return date is August 19th so that we can get final numbers to our vendors and contact anyone that hasn't responded

With all that is going on, I would recommend 6 weeks before the wedding.
