If you don’t send out save the dates how early would you send your invitations?

Hi Jenifer! Have you thought about doing a digital or email Save the Date just so your guests can plan accordingly? I wouldn't want to send out your wedding invitations too early - or everyone will forget to RSVP on time!

Wedding invitations are typically sent out 6-8 weeks before your wedding date, and here's a great article that goes into detail about your invites timeline:

For many generations, couples and their parents sent the info at 6-12 months before the wedding via word of mouth either in person or over the phone. Very effective and costs $0. The postcard/magnet/email trend is only maybe 5 years old.

Invitations, even cross country, are traditionally sent at 6-8 weeks before the wedding standard. For international guests only they can be sent earlier by a couple weeks. There is no reason to send invites before 8 weeks domestically, even cross country, because guests will lose and forget the information or they will think you are B listing and looking for seat fillers. Replies are usually due back at 4 weeks with a week buffer following for you to track down anyone who didn’t reply in order to get an accurate final headcount for your caterer.
Any vendor who says they need a final headcount at 4 weeks to 4 months before the wedding is scamming you because they know the traditional timeline but are choosing to ignore it.
