When to send flower girl and ring bearer invites

Private User, on January 13, 2015 at 11:16 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Also, is it appropriate to have two ring bearers and two flower girls?

What do you mean their invites? Aren't you inviting their parents, too? You can have however many you want. I have 2 FG and 1 RB, but my FSIL had 2 of each.

Yes, their parents are invited. But I wasn't sure if there was a separate invite or not. Invites are not necessary? I just verbally ask when I send the wedding invite?

Do you mean when to ask the parents if their children can be a ring bearer/flower girl? That is something that needs to be discussed in person early on. Or an actual wedding invite? Also you can have as many as you'd like.

Ask there parents ASAP if these children can be involved in your wedding. They will need to make the necessary arrangements.

Ok I think there are a few different questions here.

    1. You should ask the parents if they would be okay with their kid being a ring bearer/flower girl FIRST, before bringing it up to the kid. This can be done anywhere from about 6 months-a year before your wedding. There's no huge rush. Then, depending on their age, you can ask the kid if they want to be in the wedding.

    2. Yes, it's fine to have two flower girls/two ring bearers. That's a lot of kids, though. Depending on their ages, not all of them will be okay with walking down the aisle, so keep that in mind.

    3. When sending a physical invitation to your wedding, you only need to send one to the parents, not the individual kids. The invitation can be addressed "The Smith Family" or you can name all the kids if you want.

    I hope that covers it!
