When to schedule hair/makeup trial?

vghjfcxgxfgdh, on April 3, 2017 at 5:31 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

When would you consider it to be "too close to the wedding" for a hair and makeup trial? My MUA has done my makeup twice (engagement photos and bridal shower) and I feel confident in her artistry , but we haven't established my "wedding look" yet. I also haven't had my hair lady style my hair yet . I'm having a tough time finding a day where both my hair person and MUA can do a trial so I can see the overall look. Question is, am I cutting it close if I have the trial in the beginning of May for a wedding on June 23? Do most people need just one trial or is it common to do multiple? TIA!

I don't think so. My hair and make up artist are the same. But they told me the best time is about one month out. Then the look will be fresh in the artist's mind, plus you will most likely look the same within the month.

That makes a lot of sense!

I think that'd be fine! You're already confident with your MUA and she's done your makeup several times before so it's not like you're in danger of trying to find someone else if you don't like her work.

In general people do one trial unless of course they're unhappy with the way it came out the first time, they go back and do a second, or they hire a different MUA.
