When to schedule bachelorette party?

Whitney, on December 16, 2014 at 10:07 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

My schedule is so busy almost every weekend until the wedding! I can't believe how quickly it will be here. My question is- how far in advance should you have your bachelorette party? Since my wedding is March 7 we are shooting to have it in February and the only options are Feb 7 or 28 one week before the wedding. I am concerned that if I do it the weekend before the wedding, that may be cramming too much into the last minute things going on. I'm sure there will be a million things at the end to do. My bridal shower is Jan 31 so I worry people won't want to come to my events 2 weekends in a row.

I would do it on the 7th, just becasue I would want the weekend before the wedding free. But either date you pick, they would still be attending one of your events 2 consecutive weekends.

I haven't caught wind of a bridal shower but we are doing my bachelorette party March 6-9 and my wedding is 3/28. FH is doing his bachelor party the weekend before. I figured I will be going crazy the weekend before the wedding so I said no for my party!

My wedding is 3/1 and my bachelorette party weekend is a cruise 2/6-2/9. I didn't want to do it too close to the wedding because I have a few people who are traveling for both. I can't wait. I'm soooo ready for February to get here. Once the bachelorette weekend is here it means that the wedding is not far behind it. I have no clue if I'm having a shower or not. This is my second wedding. First one was in 1994 but I'm not expecting any shower this time.

I just had mine this past weekend and my wedding is on 4/18. For me it was hard to get peoples schedules together and some ladies were from out of state so around the holidays worked out so they could come see their families for the holidays while they were up here. FH had his on October.

Wedding date twins!! I am doing my bridal shower on Feb 7th and the bachelorette party on the 28th (only because I have people flying in to attend). The party isn't that important to FH and I, so it's no big deal. How are you doing with all your planning? Almost done?

We're actually doing mine on the same day as the shower. My MOH and my BFF have to travel so it's better for them to consolidate.

You can have your bachlorette when ever you please! My cousin had hers a whole month before her wedding. I'm having mine this saturday. I have an out of town bridesmaid that lives in london. It was important to me to include her in some of the prewedding events, but the only options were do some wedding events during the holidays when she was in town to see family, or have them a week or so before the wedding. Smiley smile i'm also having one of the bridal showers this weekend too.

I'm having my full on hen weekend in March before our July wedding just because I didn't want to get stressed in the lead up to the big day with organising people or being disappointed... I'm a worrier.

Having said that, my best friend is only coming in from Huston the week before the wedding, so on the Wednesday we're heading to a city just over an hour away for a girly afternoon and evening of food and drink with our other super close friend from High School... so its kind of another mini hen party which is ridiculously close to the wedding day.

I think my girls are planning it for the Friday or Saturday before I am not too worried about it being the weekend before. But I have the whole week to do last minute things, I think it will be great to blow off some steam.

Kylee I'm not done! Still need to finalize catering, hire ceremony musicians, find a hair and make up artist which has been an impossible task, and get my invitations! 

My sister (MOH) has taken charge and planned on having my Bridal Shower in august and my bachelorette party 2 weeks before the wedding.

I had mine 2 weeks before the wedding and DH had his 2 days before b/c that was the only time all of his friends would be together in one place.

Oooh yikes, that is cutting it close. I wouldn't want it so close to my wedding so I'd go with Feb. 7 but you're right, that might mean your BM are a little annoyed they have to give up 2 weekends in a row for you lol and it may impact if people can attend.

We are planning my shower for the last weekend in May and I'm thinking of a bachelorette sometime in the end of June.
