When to put in veil??

Alexandra, on February 22, 2020 at 8:33 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9
FH and I are getting married in Vegas in 3 weeks!!! We are getting married at Sunset Gardens, but I am getting hair and makeup done with my bridesmaids in our hotel room at the Excalibur and then putting my dress on at the venue. When should I put in my wedding veil?? It's a two part cathedral veil with blusher. I am also wearing a tiara.

Probably with hair and makeup since they will need to place and secure your tiara and veil. Then put the dress on at the venue

That's what I was thinking but how?? We have to go from our hotel room down to the lobby and then into our limo, drive to the venue, and then put on my dress. Do I just wrap it around my arm or something?

I would see if there is a way to wrap the end up into something that would not crush or damage and make it easier for transport. Maybe your hair artist has some ideas and has dealt with this situation before

Just pick it up and carry it.

Have the HMUA put the veil in and show someone reliable how to do it. Like your Mom or MOH. Then you can remove it for while you’re going place to place and getting into your dress. Even if you did want to keep it in from the point of the hair appointment, you might need to take it off and put it back on throughout the night (for photos), so make sure someone reliable learns how to put it in and tape it out properly.

I would have your hair stylist put it in, then just wrap it around your arm/carry it

I would wait until you have on your dress so that you don't trip on it.

I second this. The HMUA should be able to put it it and secure it in a way that it won't move and won't ruin your look. They can show someone else how to do this, that way the veil can be put on at the venue without damaging your hairstyle, and can then be removed after for eating, dancing, whatever. The HMUA should have a plan for how your hairstyle can work with and without the veil.

My hair person specifically told me to bring the veil for the trial and the wedding day so that she can secure it. That may be easiest.
