When to put down the aisle runner

Ashley, on September 5, 2020 at 10:48 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
I’ve been going back and forth, I would like to have an aisle runner at my wedding but it is not supplied to me by my limo company or florist which many of them are in NY. So I would have to purchase one myself. The question is I don’t have any ushers at my wedding, do I get an aisle runner and if I do can I put it down before bridal party/before church starts or do I have to roll it down right before I walk down ?

I could ask a family member to roll it down for me but won’t it look weird right before I walk down?

You can find them pretty inexpensive depending on the type. I’m going to use one but I’m having it roll it out before the ceremony so it will be easier for me.

I would just put it out before the ceremony. You can either let guests walk on it or block off the aisle and have them enter from the other side of the seats. As a guest, I would think it was pretty odd to watch the bride’s family basically roll out a red carpet for her to walk down the aisle.

I didn't like any runners I found online and the ones I did like were way too expensive. I literally bought a bolt of fabric from a fabric store. It's 5ft wide and 18 yards long. I'm having a friend's husband and maybe a groomsman to lay it out earlier in the day before the wedding and guests arrive. It's a concrete aisle so they're laying down double sided tape too.
