When to post engagement pictures!?

Sydney, on September 30, 2019 at 5:46 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
We got our engagement phots back fairly quick and we got them done fairly early for when our actual wedding is. We have only been engaged for a month. When is the appropriate time to post these photos on social media or does it necessarily matter?

I don't think it really matters. If you're planning to use them for save the dates, I might hold of, or at least on the one you're using.

Thanks for your feedback. I was thinking about keeping the ones for the save the dates off the internet as well until everyone receives theirs!

I posted ours as soon as we got them back, after about three months of being engaged. I plan on using some of them that I posted for our save the dates, but a lot of the people we're sending them to don't have Facebook anyways.

Any time after you have informed your closest family and friends, who may be upset that people you know less well on social media see it before they do. Especially if they have not heard you are engaged yet. Even if you just enclose 1 photo in an email, with message, Did you hear yet... , or Wanted you to know we are officially engaged ...you save hurt feelings from those who feel slighted that the world in general hears it first on social media. Especially older and distant but much loved relatives . . . And, as mentioned, holding a few off social media if you want them for Save The Dates, or to print up boxes with a pic and small note cards to use for thank you notes. All shower gifts, most services people do for you free ( not work), and 90 percent or more of gifts are received before the wedding. Starting as early as the random engagement present from a relative, to things people want you to use at an RD or wedding ( loan of 15 of grandma's Crystal vases) which you may get six months before the wedding, plus all shower gifts and wedding gifts, all need to get prompt thank you notes within 2 weeks of getting the gift. Needed before the wedding, so you cannot use wedding pictures, if you want pics on thank you notes, as lots of people do. So if you want loving couple pictures for thank you notes, don't post them on social media. Order thank you size cards ( can be blank, do not have to say Thank You) with some engagement shots nobody will have seen on social media yet . What with shower gifts, services like someone doing flowers, someone who cooked for a shower or gave one, and actual shower gifts and wedding presents received before the wedding, with thank you notes sent before the wedding, we used over 240 of our 280 or so Thank You note cards BEFORE the wedding, for just under 170 guests, plus many who could not come sent gifts, and many at showers not at the wedding. We received 200 cards, blank, when we got engaged ( from Mom and an aunt). But lots of friends have ordered boxes of Thank you notecards with an assortment of engagement pictures on the front. So, shower gift TY card, wedding gifts TY cards , and TY for giving a shower, each had different pictures . I saved every one, for the pics, and it was so nice they used ones I had not seen before online. It made them special .

I think you're free to post them whenever you'd like! Just make sure that you've already told your VIPs about the engagement first Smiley heart
