When to order FH's tux?

Tuxes aren't too hard to come by. For the weddings I was in last year, it was the last thing the couple took care of (they just rented tuxes at the beginning of the wedding month). My FH and our groomsmen currently do not have tuxes and they intend to get them after prom season ends or in July.

We went about a month and a half before the wedding to order! All the GMs were out of town so we asked them to send us their measurements and FH got measured when we went. It's definitely something that doesn't need to be done super in advance! Call the tux shop and ask when they would recommend!

@Felicia, I feel you on this procrastination thing. This is the only thing FH asked to do without my assistance, but I just know that means procrastination will be a big factor in the coming months.

Our wedding is 8/12 and FH has not done this yet. We've looked at both Men's Warehouse and Jos A Banks and we're told they have TONS of inventory so 6-8 weeks out is plenty of time. I would make sure you alert your groomsmen so they can plan to budget for the expense though.

I'd recommend deciding on your color and looking for companies that offer what you want now.

We started looking at companies last fall. We wanted charcoal gray and Mens Warehouse didn't have the color we had in mind, so it took a little digging. We settled on Xedo (online company - our GM were all over the country!) and they were awesome! They shipped the tuxes 2 weeks before the wedding so there was plenty of time to get replacements for things that didn't fit.

We went around the end of November. In hindsight I don't feel like we needed to go that early, but it was nice to get it checked off the to do list and let the groomsmen know how much it would cost them. We went to Men's Warehouse, and the guys can go back up to 2 weeks before the wedding to be re measured if they gain or lose weight.

We haven't started looking at tuxes yet, but we probably will start next month. I don't think men need as long as women to get their attire, especially if they're renting.
