When to order bridesmaid dresses

Jillian, on April 19, 2022 at 3:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 11
I plan to order my bridesmaid dresses from Azazie. My wedding is May 5, 2023. When should I place the order for the girls?

Around 4-6 months ahead of time seems like it would be sufficient! Early enough to where a dress can be reordered if something isn't right with it, and leaves time for alterations, though close enough to the wedding to where sizing and such should be fairly accurate. You could also check out the delivery estimates on Azazie, and then maybe add a month or two, and order the dresses in that time frame.

My bridesmaids dresses were all ordered on April 2, and one of my bridesmaids got notification that her dress shipped today (about 2.5 weeks after ordering). When the orders were put in, it did say arrival around the last week of April, so I’d think about 4-6 weeks is a good estimate. It said that dresses should be ordered within 24 hours (if possible) to ensure they are in the same dye lot (to avoid variation in color). I’d suggest ordering 3-4 months before your wedding. That’ll give time for the dresses to come in, have alterations done if necessary, and avoid any potential shipping delays. Better to be prepared early. My wedding is in June, so this will give the ladies plenty of time to get any alterations that will be needed and find shoes. Also, I recommend ordering the try on dresses to see styles in person. Super easy!

Probably more towards the 4 month mark, that’s what I did anyway. Order date was 4/2 for our wedding on 7/23. Have fun!!

Yes! We did the try on at home. I originally wanted a completely different dress, but the one I picked is so amazing! I want to make sure they are all the same dye lot too. My biggest fear is that the dresses will be discontinued.

I’m glad it worked out for you, too! Hmm, that’s a good point about the possibility of the dress being discontinued. I mean you could order early, but what if someone’s weight changes, or if they get pregnant? Maybe it’s worth contacting azazie to see how often dresses get discontinued and if this one will be on the site for a while.

Azazie is pretty good with shipping and timeframes so I say at least 5 months out to make time for alterations, exchanges, etc.

4 months is plenty of time. There is nothing that bridesmaids need to do before 6 months. So many factors are in play that can have you with an entirely different group at this time next year.

Its should be the earlier the better for you because we will be on pins and needles about having everyone dress in and in there possession. And if you have to return something it should have enough of time for it to be delivered back to you.

My bridesmaids went to David’s for there dresses (we all went in January) and one of my bridesmaids dress won’t come in until the end of May (it’s not a big deal since my wedding isn’t until September) but I would definitely get them ordered about 6 months in advance!
