When to "officially" ask wedding party...

I asked by the first of the year and our date is 9-20

All I can say is to wait until you know for sure sure sure they are the peeps. I asked after we got engaged (about a year and three months before the wedding) and I have some regrets. Some people I have sort of grown apart from and other people I've gotten closer to and I'd definitely have a different wedding party now than I thought I wanted back then. I love them all dearly and I'm okay with how it is, but I wish that I had waited until about nine months or so before the wedding to be sure. Looks like you have quite a bit of time. I'd probably wait a few more months just to be sure. BUt that's just me

I think we are pretty set. It would take something super major to break up our group of friends. We have all been friends for 16 years now and have survived band tours, cross country moves, each others horrible boy/girlfriends....drunken fights. We have done it all. So funny to look back now being in my 30's with a daughter and realize how lucky I am to have the friends I have =)

I sent them all text messages damn near immediately after we got engaged because they're my closest friends and I knew there wouldn't be any drama.
