I went to the seamstress yesterday to schedule mine. I am starting August 29th for our October 12th wedding. We are pushing it a bit close, as she usually requires 2x mos. My dress is a align so I'm not sure if that affected it.

However, every seamstress is a bit different. A friend of mine got married last year & she said it took like 6 mos. for her dress to be altered. She is very thin, and her dress had a lot of tulle.

It depends on a lot of factors. I think most reccomend three months but you could start calling and asking around six months if you want a lot done.

We’re wedding date twins!!! I’m going the end of October. My seamstress said she only needs two weeks to fix my dress.

About 3 months although I started mine closer to 1.5 months. It depends how busy the shop is.

I would check with the seamstress you're going to use. My wedding is September 7th and my first alterations appointment was in July, second one was last week and I brought it home.

I would ask your seamstress how much time she needs! I had my first alterations appointment for my February wedding in June because I just really wanted to get the alterations started (hem and bustle). My dress has a ton of detail and is covered in lace and beading so I wanted to give her more time due to her shop always being really busy. She said she usually starts altering the sides 2-3 months before the wedding, though.

I would say it needs to be 2-3 months on advance. My wedding is in October. My fitting started this month with last a week before the wedding

I had 3 alterations appointments. Our wedding was July 20, 2019. First one was in early May, second in late June, the last one week before the wedding.

I just had my first appointment for my Nov 16th wedding, so I'd say maybe in about a month you could aim for yours.

Started alterations 2 months before. I had a total of 3 appointments and took my dress on the last one which was a week before the wedding.
