When to formally ask your wedding party?

I know who I want my wedding party to be, and I know how I want to ask them. We plan on an October 2017 wedding, so our next step is to find and book a venue. I'm really excited to ask these ladies to be by my side, since they are all people I love so much, but is there such a thing as asking too...

And if it's not feasible to ask them all together, say at a lunch, is it alright to ask them personally in a one on one?

Thank you so much for all your input ladies!! I'll definitely wait a few more months to ask, I just get so excited thinking about it haha. And @OhHappy , the reason they would be the ones to come with me, is because I don't have a very large social circle, think more acquaintances than friends. Certainly no one I'm close enough with to invite to look at dresses with me, besides the girls that I want to be in my BP.

I've seen a lot of people on here be quick to say that it's too early to pick your bridal party, but I think it should be totally up to you. I picked mine within a month of getting engaged, but I was selecting people that I (pretty much knew) would definitely be a part of it. Sadly, my sister is being really immature and stopped speaking to me after I asked her, but I think those situations are anomalies and not likely to happen. If they do, you just move on. I've enjoyed having my best friend and FSIL locked in as my wedding party from the start because they've already helped come up with ideas. Also, I feel good getting stuff done early so the fact that we've already made progress with picking out bridesmaid dresses is one more thing off my checklist. I say ask when you're ready.
