When to do first dance/parent dances

Ugh following because I don't know the order in which anything is supposed to happen

I have never seen them done at any time except right after the entrance unless it's a cocktail style reception with a less traditional timeline. Then they are sprinkled throughout the evening.

We did ours after dinner, but it was due to technical difficulties - we were intending to do them right after we entered

First dance is supposed to be to open the dance for after dinner. That's what we're doing

Our timeline is pretty much Mrs. Fall Bride's.

Once announced we're doing our first dance. Then dinner, in between salad and main we're doing Father/Daughter Dance.

We did ours after we ate. We danced, me and my dad danced and my husband danced with my mom as his mom is deceased. Then it opened to everyone else.

We did it after entering, then sat down to eat with no worries.

My DJ also suggested after dinner and I think it was the best choice. We had so many traditions that I appreciated breaking them up more.
