When to Bustle

Kristy, on March 28, 2017 at 9:48 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Dumb question but, I went to my seamstress today and she worked on the bustle for my dress. And it got me thinking, when exactly does it make sense to bustle? Between the ceremony and cocktail hour? After the entrance? After first dance? I know it doesn't really matter but I'm mostly curious when others did it.

Right before you do your grand entrance into the reception! You'll want your train to be in your pictures during cocktail hour Smiley smile

After the post-ceremony photos. If you have a long train, you want it bustled before you get to the reception. ** show your mom/moh how to bustle before you put on the dress, it will make it much easier.

I also bustled mine after photos when I reached the reception.

Typically it's right after some photos of the dress with the train down, and right before the reception....

I have been thinking about this too. I've decided to do it right before the reception begins. The onky downfall is I think it will take at least 10 minutes. My final fitting is Saturday, guess I'll find out then!

Thanks everyone! Def taking my MOH with me to pick up the dress the week before the wedding so she can see how to do the bustle.

I'm one of those if I don't write it on the schedule it won't get done type so I'm literally putting it on my wedding timeline to my coordinator - remind me to bustle dress after X (I think going with before reception but after pics is a good idea)

I'm planning on bustling once pictures are done (during cocktail hour), this way for our entrance and dances I don't have to worry about it getting in the way

I plan to do it right after pictures (cocktail hour) but before we are announced into the reception because we go immediately into first dance and parent dances.
