when to blow bubbles @ outdoor ceremony?

Nicole, on May 21, 2014 at 6:39 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7

My ceremony is outside, in a park, under a pavilion. our guests will be seated under the pavilion in rows of chairs like normal. i got bubbles for the guests to blow afterwards because ive always LOVED that idea. but i never thought of when to do it at our outdoor reception. the only time ive seen it done is when the guests gather outside of the venue then the couple comes out and they blow bubbles as they walk out the door. however, we're walking down first after the ceremony when the guests are still seated. anyone have any suggestions? and how do i go about telling my guests when to blow the bubbles? would it be tacky for my officiant to announce when to blow them?

We are having the coordinator announce it when we are dancing and our exit. I am going to place them on the table and in a basket near the entrance.

@jesse's boo that is a great idea!! definitely gonna look for a little thing similar to that. plus that is something that is so simple yet really spices them up. thanks! i plan to set mine on a table that has our sign that pick a seat not a side since were not having ushers.

You could have the officiant announce it right after you are pronounced husband and wife and you kiss. Then everyone would blow them as you walk back down the aisle.

I wanted to do it as we are walking out of the ceremony, but I didn't want the guest to get any bubbles on my dress or face.

The signs on the bubbles are great. Also, just pass the word along to your closest friends and family about when you want the bubbles blown. It's catchy - once someone starts, they all will... As far as at the reception, again, just pass the word along to your friends and they will get the ball rolling. If you're doing a first dance, it's a great time for bubbles then too!
