When should we take engagement photos?

We'd like to use the engagement photos for a save the date but our wedding is in may next year. Does it matter what season we get the photos done if we are sending the save the dates the first week of December?

Just make sure you get them done in time! If you want to send STDs the first week of December, you need to make sure you have the e-pics back from your photographer in time to order them! I'd ask your photographer about turn-around time on an engagement session!

Doesn't matter how early or late you do them! I saw a bride that did photos in each season, which was really neat

I am a May bride too and we are getting ours done on July 9th. Not sure the turn around time for the photos but I do know we want to send out the save the dates earlier than "normal" bc we are getting married on Memorial Day weekend and want people begin making arrangements.

Does not matter. Just got married this May and we took our photos late September so get some fall colours. So long as you get the pictures early enough for STD you should be fine.

It really doesn't matter. I did mine in the middle of May and my wedding is next August. Just get them done in time for STDs.
