When should the groomsmen arrive at the church?

Deanna, on May 7, 2014 at 2:58 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

I know the groom and his groomsmen should be at the church before the bride arrives, but how early should they be there? Should they be there before any guests to greet them? My ceremony starts at 330pm, what time do you think is appropriate for the men to arrive?

Depends on wether or not you are having them do any pictures. Are they acting as ushers as well? These all play a role in your answer. Otherwise, just make sure they are on time (15 minutes early)

I think they would probably get some pictures done at the church, so maybe 3:00?

Our photographer made that decision, he wanted the groomsmen to meet my Hubby at the venue a hour before the wedding.

He met me and my bridal party at the hotel 3 1/2 hours prior to the wedding. when we met with the photographer, we went over our wedding day timeline and events. I made copies of the timeline sheet & gave it to the venue's COD, the DJ and my personal assistant.

Our church recommends 45 minutes before and guests start arriving 30 minutes before.
