When should i hire a make-up artist and/or hairstylist?

This is the timeline I have for my wedding. I honestly found it on Pinterest lol hope this helps a bit

You could start doing your research now! Good ones can get taken far ahead of time, and if you're getting married in a smaller area like I am, there's not a ton of people to choose from. My engagement will be a total of 10 months, and I booked my HMUA 9 months before my wedding date.

I'd look at examples of hair & makeup the artists have done in the past to see if it fits your style. Check their websites/FB/Instagram to see if you like what they've done in the past (up-do, half-up/half-down hair, etc). With makeup, there's styles ranging from a more natural look to a glam look so see if their work is something you'd feel comfortable in. Also, you'll want to decide if you want airbrush or traditional makeup and see what each artist uses.

I would start at least looking now. We could not find anyone affordable to come to our venue so we agreed to go to a salon that we knew was good. Problem with that was that it would be a ton of driving back and forth (over 2 hours total) so i canceled them last week and found an affordable team that will come to us and only cost $15 more each. Mind you I am only 29 days away from my wedding, so it is doable, but probably better to research now.

Depends where you live! I thought I had lots of time but when I booked someone for my engagement photos in July (and loved the makeup) I tried to book her for my wedding (08/08/2020) and she was already booked! I started looking for someone right away after that and the first 4 people I reached out to told me they were already booked. I couldn't believe it. Everyone keeps saying 2020 is a crazy busy year for weddings. I would start reaching out for quotes from people soon.

Start now if you can because they actually do tend to get booked really quickly.
