When should i have my cake delivered?

Rebecca, on May 20, 2018 at 4:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
So the week of my Wedding is finally here! So now is when my anxiety is probably going to be at its worse.
So currently my cake is scheduled to be at the venue at 1 pm, ceremony is at 230,it's an outdoor venue and the weather is supposedly gong to be in the late 60s, early 70s. Did I schedule too early? It's two tier and then two rows pans of sheet cake

Ask your cater. I originally told my baker to deliver the cake/cupcakes by 6pm (wedding starts at 7pm) but upon speaking to the cater, she recommended when the Reception started, at 9pm.

Ours is being delivered at 2 pm for a reception that starts at 6pm. Our venue is indoors though.

Is the cake being displayed outside or in a tent? If it is in direct sunlight you are going to have some issues. If the weather stays below 70 and the cake is in a tent/ shaded area you should be fine. I own a small bakery and your time frame seems fine as long as the cake is not sitting out in the sun.

My baker delivers, not all bakers do, it's worth asking. Some charge a fee if it's over a certain distance.

Talk you to the baker. A lot may depend on the ingredients used, method of construction, if there is detail work, and type of icing. They will be able to give you the best advice. If they are steadily working in the area of your wedding, they are probably used to the impact of regional weather on their cakes and what to do to protect it.
