When should i have my bridal shower?

Ashley, on July 6, 2017 at 6:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 15

I know the usually time to have a bridal shower is about 2 months before the wedding. However, almost 2 months to the day before my wedding is Christmastime. And if I go a month before that then it would be November, which is black Friday. Is it okay to have a shower like 4 months before, like in October? Or is that way to soon for a shower? Or is it okay to have it in December although it will be the holiday season?

You should have it about 2 weeks to 2 months from your wedding.

I've heard it's typically 2-3 months before. You don't have to do it to the day exactly. Why not have it in early December? I understand trying to schedule around the holidays. I'm shooting to have mine either the end of January or early February because I didn't want to put it right after Christmas or on Valentine's Day which is exactly 2 months before my wedding.

I'd probably wait until January, but I guess it depends on your host and when would work best for her.

I'm getting married in February 2017 too! My sister is my MOH and we decided to do my bridal shower in early November. I have peak season for work up until February and i couldn't do it later than that. We are having just a day for the bridal party in January to party and have fun.

I'm also getting married in February and my shower is in September in order to avoid the holidays and other events going on. It's not ideal but that's the time that worked best for us and our VIPs.

Eh, I think it's fine. My sister had her shower in August for her early January wedding. I didn't think anything of it.

People's budgets are tight around the holidays plus it's cold in winter where I am too

If I were you I'd probably go for sometime in January. After New Years everything will calm down a little, your special moment won't get lost in the hustle and bustle, and it would still be enough time to separate it from your actual wedding.

I would recommend doing it in November. I think people have a lot less going on holiday wise in Nov than in Dec. I had mine at the end of June.
