When should i get my spray tan?

Megan, on August 11, 2022 at 11:27 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 10
I have a little bit of a dilemma. My wedding is on Friday Spetember 2nd, the welcome party is on September 1st at 4pm, the rehersal and rehersal dinner is on August 31st at 5pm, that same day I have to get out marriage licence and have my make up trial, then on August 30th I have a bridal dinner...so I'm pretty booked the week of our wedding.

I hear you should get your tan 2 days before the wedding but I don't know if I have time. Would it be okay of I get my tan on the 1st the day before my wedding? They have a 430pm appointment open (I could sleep in my tan). Or is that too close to the day? I could also do it on the 31st at 10am and wash it off at 4pm before the rehersal dinner? Idk I need help because I have no clue what would be best.

I would go get a spray tan now and see how it looks 1 day after. Try and replicate the situation to a T! That's the only real way you'll know how it's going to look. Everyone's skin holds tan differently, so while I always sleep in my tans that may not be best for you!

^^Came here to say the same thing. I got a spray tan for prom, and the day after I was ORANGE. On like the second or third day it did fortunately tame down and look normal. Meanwhile I had another friend who looked perfectly fine the day after she got one.

Some people have said to check the photography contract. The photographers apparently have more difficult time editing images and may charge extra.

I think that is the issue. Yes. I don't know if this is just by home tanning or bad salon spray tans.

It would be nice to know how this works out.

Yeah I have been to this lady before and her tanning products work really well with my skin. So I know it won't be orange but I really want to make sure it's fully developed. I called the lady that does my spray tans and she said the 1st is too soon and it would be developed yet. So to do it on the 31st and she can do and express tan so I only have to have it on for 4 hours.

Sure. it is a definite plus that you have had success with her before. Though, the camera may pick up a little different coloring than seen with our eyes. It is sort of like the extreme highlighting (especially the tear-duct area of the eyes) that shows up distinctly instead of subtly in pictures. (I doubt that would a big editing issue to the photographer.) Maybe some others will chime in about their successes.

I would just be careful with the tan coming off on your dress.

I was going to do a spraytan for my wedding so did a test one for my bridal shower a couple weeks ago. The color was great and I got alot of compliments on my dress, but did notice that the tan did rub off on my clothes immediately following and days/weeks after my tan even after showering numerous times.

I would try that 4 hour quick develop now and see how it works and when it hits the peak. I know she says it’ll be fine but you don’t know until you try it. As for planning, if you go for the longer developing, you could always get it done the morning of your bridal dinner and use some light powder/foundation to tone it down, then you might be hitting the 12 hour mark when you get home or go to bed that evening and shower. This will also help out when assessing your makeup trial the next day. Personally, I think a third day on a tan would be better than the next day, especially if you are wearing white or ivory. You just want to be careful when you shower, like don’t use anything with texture on it that can exfoliate.
