I don't think there is a specific time, so let those throwing you a shower pick the date. My family is throwing me one in May for my August wedding.

Most I have attended are within 2 months of the wedding. I don't think there is a specific rule, but too early (like 5+ months before) is a little weird.

I'm an October bride too. My bridesmaids have offered some dates in August and 1 in September. They don't want to cut it too close so that I'm not stressed.

I think within the 2-3 months leading up to the wedding is most common.

I'm an October bride and my MOH is planning my shower for July 30th. 2-3 months before is a good time frame in my opinion.

Anywhere 3 months before is typical.

Mine is probably early, it's in May. But with me and FH being out of state and family/friends we decided to have it with my sisters graduation so we will all be in town. My cousin is getting married in July so family is having trouble flying in for all sorts of things coming up. It seemed easier for everyone. I don't see the harm in having it whenever you want.

Many people don't like the shower to be super close to the wedding because it means buying 2 presents close together (though IMO you could usually just budget it out because you know about it months ahead of time). I would do it between 2 and 6 months out ideally but it's flexible if there are other circumstances.

My shower is march 19th and i am getting married sept 10th. Mine is early but thats because my bestie(MOH) lives oos and she will be home then. So i think whenever they want to is fine.

My wedding is in September and the shower is April 2. My sister/ MOH is having a baby in June and wants to have the shower before the baby comes.
