When is off peak season for venues?

Mrs. Lewis, on February 1, 2017 at 11:38 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 16

I know this varies depending on venue and state and city, etc, but typically when is off peak season?

Idk about seasons, as it depends on the location (e.g., summer = outdoor weddings), but I know week days are sometimes better priced than weekend weddings. We're getting married on a Thursday and booked our venue for half price. This obviously might not work for everywhere or for you, if you have a lot of out of town guests, but it worked for us!!

Most of the venues we looked at in the Denver area had their off season listed as between November and April

In my area I think it's November to March but vendors may be able to give you a better answer to this question

Around here, off season is January, February, March, and right up to Easter.

Off peak is typically January, March, April, November. Bc Summer & Fall are most popular wedding seasons

The most expensive day to book a venue is Saturday. Fridays & Sundays are substantially cheaper to book. Thursdays are super cheap if you are willing to choose a weekday.

Here's a good article to consider as you plan going forward:

For my venue they consider May-November to be peak season for weddings. Everything else is off peak. My wedding is April 29th and I luckily get to have the off peak price as the last day of the off peak season

It really depends entirely on where you live. Where I'm getting married peak season is March-April and September - November. The summer months actually get a massive discount because it's way too damn hot.

I'm in the southern NJ region. We originally targeted an October 2017 wedding. In June 2016, while visiting a venue, the coordinator relayed two available October Saturday's (10/21 and 10/28) which we preferred. The coordinator sent us the pricing and then also sent her off peak prices (Nov-Apr). I hadn't even considered November til I saw the pricing.

-a minimum of $10PP less for food (could be $15 depending on choices)

-$7-$10 less PP for bar package depending on choices

    -reduced rental and ceremony fees

-free chair covers (I hate chair covers, but peak season they cost money)

That's at least $17-$25 less per person, to choose Nov 4 over Oct 21 or Oct 28.

    No brainer!!

That's also just the lowered price on venue/food/booze. Other vendors also do discounts for off peak weddings Smiley smile

In Florida, summer is off peak. Still super busy, but too hot for the outdoor events.

Most of the venues in Florida were off season Dec-March, a few started peak season in march.

I think off season in PA (near Pittsburgh) is Jan-Mar (not sure about Nov-Dec). But it's also vendor dependent, some do not offer off season deals. Luckily with our upcoming March wedding we have gotten a few discounts, including the venue which is almost $3,000 less being in March and then we received around 10-15% off photography and dj. It's also been a little bit easier to find vendors and plan in a faster timeline since less weddings = more options. Our total engagement will be just over 8 months and we had no issues finding available vendors.

I'm in MA and most venues we looked at considered November April off season and offered discounted rates in those months
