That is very early. But then, checklists often say to get Bridesmaid gowns very early, when most need only be ordered in the 4-5 month range, some to 3 months. Because they arrive 2 weeks to 10 after order, varying by manufacturer, and the closer to the wedding they are ordered, the less likely they are to need alterations due to changes in size. .... Tuxs or dressy suits rarely need to be done until 8-12 weeks. I have never met anyone who could not find to rent or buy who started at 10-12 weeks. Measured earlier, guys often change a couple sizes. But that is for main colors and fit, and up to 5-6 people alike. If you need the exact same one, not just very similar, 6-12 in number or bright red or purple, you need to check sources early. But navy, midnight blue, light or dark grey and black, 3 months is fine. And if you are very formal and need tuxes, in some groups people will own or want to buy one. Unlike BM dresses, that can mean $300-600. So they may be quite willing to get black or whatever, but only a model they like on them. And a style that suits their figure. So you can line up all you want, and they will go elsewhere for what they want. De ide on a look you want by 4-5 months, along with dresses. But unless it is a tough color, just check and make sure it is available in general. And set up for them to go out at 2-3 months. Anything measured then should still fit. If they are buying, any time up to the wedding will do. This is best left to the guys.

Renting or buying? Our groomsmen did tux rentals through Men's Wearhouse and placed the order just over a month in advance. But my husband and I selected the style a few months in advance.

We ordered 1 month before our wedding. We went and picked out colors and styles 6 weeks before. We kinda pushed it to last minute.

Thank you. My friend ( the bride) wants to go look and start it next weekend and i told her this was way to early to do that. Her colors are black and red.

If she needs 14 perfectly matched red tuxedos, size 3 Toddler to Falstaff, she better get going. Black, start comparing prices at 3 months. So people know, buy or rent.

If that's the case and they're using a large company like Men's Wearhouse, then 6 months out is probably too soon. Men's Wearhouse actually wouldn't let us place an order for tux rentals before 90 days out. They can start comparing places to select the style, but there is plenty more time for ordering
