When do I...?

Jill, on October 20, 2020 at 1:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hello everyone! I’m new to the group.
We are planning a micro-wedding in November 14th for about 30 guests. There will be only 2 bridesmaids.
The ceremony start time is 6:00. Can anyone suggest what day schedule I should follow - times for hair, makeup, etc...? I’m lost.

That depends on a few factors. How many people are having their hair and makeup done? Are you doing a first look or any pre-ceremony photos? You should ask your HMUA(s) how much time they will need and then schedule it in relation to when you need to be ready.

Are your doing photos before your ceremony at all? Do you need to drive anywhere between getting ready and photos/ceremony? I would personally figure out what time you need to be ready at and talk to your HMUA about what time they would recommend starting.

We haven’t decided on whether we are doing a first look yet. We didn’t plan on it, but that would be the only way to get any daylight pictures. If we do it, it would be about 4:30 that I’d need to be ready.
There are only 2 bridesmaids. We are getting hair at the salon then returning to the venue for hair and makeup.
The salon and venue are only 15 minutes apart.

In that case I would work backwards through your schedule and ask your makeup artist what time they would need to start for you to be ready by 4:30, then ask the salon once you know what time you would need to leave for the venue.

Welcome to wedding wire! I would try and have everyone be ready by 4:30 so you can get plenty of photos before hand.
