Just wondering when everyone sent their save the dates out. From what I've read it's 6-8 months in advance but I wanted to know what worked for real brides and not just blog posts. Just wondering when everyone sent their save the dates out. From what I've read it's 6-8 months in advance but I wanted to know what worked for real brides and not just blog posts. This isn't a destination wedding and most of our guests live 20 minutes away. A handful live one or two hours and some are coming from a different country. The ones from out of the country already know the date and already bought plane tickets.

PS: I'm in the health care field and laughed way too hard at asking when did you send your STDs. Means something less pleasant in my world lol

We have a pretty short engagement so our timing on everything has been a little ahead of the planners! We sent our STDs in June for an October wedding.

Were doing more like 8/9 months because our wedding weekend will be an extremely busy weekend where we live/where the wedding is being held. 90% of our guests are coming from out of town and they have already been asking about more information so we're trying to send them out sooner rather than later.

If you don't have many guests travelling, you can definitely wait longer.
