When did you know you were ready to start Ttc?

When/how did you know it was time for you to start TTC? A lot of people around me say you'll never truly be ready to have a child...did y'all feel that way and just decide the time was right to start trying?

I agree that I’ll never be 100% mentally prepared to make such a huge life change. But I want us to be a family. I’m ready to do what I need to for the sake of other people and not just myself. I wanted to wait til I was married and financially stable and now I am. Plus we are 30 & 36 and I want to do it while we still can and while we have the energy to chase them around.

Yeah that makes sense! We are in our later 20s as well, so we also want to start TTC soon...but also want to enjoy a few more years of “youth”!

We haven't started yet - we're getting married next month - but we've decided on a timeline that makes sense based on where I'll be in school. We'll start in 1-2 years. I think it's really true that you'll never be 100% ready. You can always save more money and get more done before you have kids, but eventually you'll run out of time. And I agree with Mrs. S that I'd rather be young enough to still run around with them. Also, I can tell you that a lot of people (women) reach a point where your thoughts go from, "I'd like to have kids," to, "I need a baby. Can we have a baby now? Who's baby can we go hang out with?"

We plan to start about 6 months after the wedding. As we are both women there is a bit more logistics to it and doctors involved and all of that jazz. I am in my late 20's as well, but I feel that I have already enjoyed my youth so I am ready to have a baby. I don't want to wait too long so that I am not an old mom I want to be able to run around and enjoy my child's childhood.

I told my FH the day after the wedding I'm getting my birth control taken out! In reality we will probably wait until we do our final move. (We plan to move out of state) You can never be ready. We both really want children and we want our parents to be grand parents. My FH's parents are in their 60s with no grandchildren!
