What's Your Signature Drink? 🍹

Lisa, on November 16, 2021 at 1:30 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 1 9
For those doing a signature drink at your reception, let's hear what you picked! Is it your go-to drink that your guests all know is your favorite? Or one that represents your theme/venue? Or one that you randomly chose because your guests will love it? Are you and your FS each picking a signature drink, or are you and your FS choosing one drink together?

Me and my fiancé chose our fave mixed drinks! Mine is a Dirty Shirley and his is an Adios! It doesn't match our theme or anything just wanted it to be what we loved!

H chose a pineapple mojito and I chose a raspberry moscow mule. We wanted our signature drinks to reflect our tastes but also be a little unexpected / not something people would think of to order themselves. H loves pineapple, was on a mojito kick, and used his favorite local spiced rum (instead of light) and I love raspberry and ginger. Both were a big hit! Our only issue was finding mint for the mojitos (and estimating how much was needed) since we stocked the bar for the bartenders - my bridesmaids helped me call a bunch of different grocery stores to find somewhere that sold (what we thought was) enough in bulk and then we ended up only using like 10% of the mint we bought Smiley ups

We’re not positive on what the actually drink will be yet, but we want to name it after our dog Miley! And we’ll have her picture by the bar menu! We want a drink we both like but would go well with her name. Some ideas I’ve thought of are:
    Miley’s margarita
Moscow MileyMalibu Miley (make it a rum punch)

We chose our favorite drinks, my FH's is an Orange crush (orange vodka, triple sec, fresh squeezed orange juice, sprite) and mine is a moscow mule, but I think i am going to make it a strawberry mule.

We had one signature and it was an Apple Cider Margarita that we named Newton’s Meowgarita after our cat Newton. We had tacos for dinner, so we wanted margaritas to go with that. We also had a November wedding so we wanted something that felt a little more fall themed. Our cat is orange so the color of the drink fit. It was a huge hit at the wedding!

We are not really drinkers like that but ours would be white peach sangria and Key lime pie. both drinks were a hit.

We considered it but our venue just charged their regular cocktail price of like, $10-15 each rather than offering a bulk cost price, so we decided against it.

If we had, we might have had something like a peach bellini and an espresso martini, because peach bellinis would match our peachy colour scheme, and we went on a date to a very cool espresso martini bar early on in our dating life. Other than that, my fiance loves an old fashioned and so do many of his friends, so that would have been another option.

I don’t drink alcohol so my signature drink was fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade & his was Malibu & coke.

We each had our own drink, and mine was my wedding go-to drink (gin and tonic) and his was a bourbon berry concoction he came up with while mixing drinks at home. I think its good to have two signatures, each with a different liquor and mixers so that there are options that cater to varied tastes.

Unless your wedding has a very strong theme that perpetuates the entire event, I don't think your drinks need to match the theme. I think its more important that the drinks are something you and your guests will like.
