What's your Last Dance song?

NaShara and Milton, on April 8, 2015 at 4:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 54

We aren't doing a grand exit with sparklers etc but we will doing a last dance and then a huge group picture at the end of the night! I am having a hard time finding a song that will end the reception with a big bang! What are you doing for your "last song"?

Probably going to be "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey. I know its cliche BUT we are literally cruising the Detroit River during our reception and I live in the Metro Detroit area...its pretty common that the DJ lowers the music and EVERYONE screams "SOUTH DEEEETRRROOIIT" during the song lol.

Don't know yet, but a friend of mine did "Can't Hold Us" by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. We all danced around them and it was very fun. They had a lot more people that were in their 20's than we will though, so I'm not sure what we'll be doing.

@LJ411 I like that song! I don't know how I feel about the lyrics for a wedding though lol It's catchy and really upbeat, but the undertones don't agree with me... ignore me though, just my opinion. Take it with a whole shaker of salt.

Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay... it will be played as we exit our venue while our guests hold sparklers! Smiley smile

@kimberly - love don't stop believing - that's on our must play list.

I think I'm going to be totally cliche and do "closing time" by semisonic - it was the last call song at some of the bars when we were in college but also because i want to point to FH as I yell/sing "I know who I want to take me home" at the end of the night.

This is the first time I've heard of a "last dance" song, but I instantly want it to be "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac.

@muscularteeth - I thought that at first too, but I really like the song, and this article kind of sealed the deal for me. I found it when I was googling the song earlier today. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/12/11/andy-grammer-honey-im-good-video_n_6311556.html

Ours was - Save the Last Dance for Me - Michael Buble

Our DJ announced it and said something along the lines of "please join our newlywed for the last song on the dance floor...etc"

We had a sparkler send-off and it was an easy way to gather everyone and give them a heads up

We are doing a last dance, but with a romantic song (all our guests will join us). We picked "Marry Me" by Train.

Not sure really, but so far James Taylor's "How sweet it is (to be loved by you)." Gotta love the older music. I grew up a child of the 80's so I love all music around that time frame. It's so upbeat, I think everyone will have fun dancing to it as our last song.

Take me home tonight by eddie money. Our first date was at an 80s cover band so it feels like a fitting fun way to end the night
