What's your father/daughter dance song?

HalloweenBride, on August 14, 2013 at 10:33 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 31

So, I liked the idea of the first dance song, but I want to hear what your father/daughter dance songs are.

I sent one I liked to my dad, but he sent back "I Hope You Dance" by LeeAnn Womack, so that's the one I'll be using.

What are you using, and why? Did you pick it, or your dad?

"What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. It's one of my dad's favorite songs and always reminds me of him... I think I mentioned it and dad whole-heartedly agreed so it was a fairly mutual choice. Now we both have to not cry while dancing :p

"In My Life" by The Beatles. It talks about memories, and I have lots of memories with my stepdad so that's why I chose it. No matter where life takes me, I'll always have a special place in my heart for my stepdad.

"Daddy Dance With Me" by Krystal Keith, I fell in love with it as I heard it on the radio and said this song is the one.

Awww Kristin, that song was one of my grandmothers favorites, and while I love it, she passed away in March of 2012, and it was played at her funeral, I think it would break my grandfathers heart too much to hear it.

I like that I haven't heard some of these songs before!

My dad has always said he has had our song picked out since the day I was born. However, he wants it to be a surprise.

My dad is awesome and really shy so I know he won't pull anything silly so I'm letting it be a surprise Smiley smile

Little Miss Magic by Jimmy Buffett. He's sung that song to me for as long as I can remember. I considered a few others, but that's definitely the one.

    The sound of crickets LOL

Okay not because I don't want to but because we won't have a DJ or music or anything like that. Just a dinner. Smiley winking But if there were one then prob "Unforgettable" b/c it reminds me of my grandpa who was the best man in my life.

I'm doing the same as Kristen, for the same reasons. What a wonderful world!

My daughter did ask to have a father daughter dance with FH, so they will be doing, the man he didn't have to be by brad paisley. She didn't quite understand the concept of the father dance but this is so perfect for them, we decided to go for it.

My dad wants Stairway to Heaven, not really sure why, but I let the parents pick the song and that was his. My stepdad, however, said it is a surprise so I'm not sure what we're dancing to Smiley smile

My dad wants it to be a surprise but I imagine it will be something jazzy. He hates country.

Love is a Verb by John Mayer. My step-father adopted me when I was 11 so none of the other traditional songs really seemed to fit. But i felt this song really kind of made the point that just because he isn't my bio dad he was the one that was there through thick and thin and truly filled the father role with his actions not just by legalities.

I didn't want anything too slow because I'm an emotional wreck when it comes to sentimental things like this! LOL

Both of my parents have already passed, so my adopted dad and I are doing something a little "different". I am a very stubborn person and it took me a long time to accept my parents as "new parents" so we are probably going to have a lightsaber war. I am buying a ton of them so that the kids can jump in as well.....but that suits us more than a two step-whichwould be out of character for us.
