While planning, I have always taken the cheaper way out. I am paying $0 for my venue as my dad is a priest and is friends with the priest of the church we wanted to get married at. My sister is also in culinary school and will be doing our food for a hugely discounted price. I also refuse to buy anything that isn't on sale. My dress is originally $1000 but I got it for $584 because of sales and coupons I found. Because of how lucky we've gotten, our wedding will only be $4,000. What deals have you gotten and whats your budget?

We're getting married at the Golf Course out South River outside of Annapolis.

So we budgeted for $10K, but everything has come to $20K. Which is average for Ohio. More than half of our cost comes from the venue which includes everything (food & bar for 200 guests, set up, tear down, napkins & table cloths, china, wait staff, cake cutting." Our cake was discounted because I paid it off by a certain date. And I am DIYing all the decor and signs- So far, that cost has come to about $200 but I budgeted $500 for that. And I've hit up shutterfly for all of their 50% off sales. FH's suit is free if all his GM rent their suits there, so that's what we are doing for men's attire. I picked out cheap jewelry from Charming Charlie's. I also bought a dress of my exact size so I only have to pay $180 to have it hemmed and add a bustle.

Around $20- $25K (includes rings). In So Cal, everything costs more. I am saving by doing my own flowers and centerpieces, having only beer and wine at the reception, keeping the guest list around 50, getting shoes from Amazon, getting a great deal from an awesome photographer as a professional courtesy, also got a great deal from a top notch pro videographer for just the ceremony (almost skipped videography for the savings but she gave me a "can't say no" deal), keeping the wedding party down to our 4 kids (we have 2 girls and 2 boys between us...perfect!). I'm getting jewelry for myself, our moms, and the wedding party during a vacation in Kauai this year. Tahitian jewelry is a steal there.
