What's the point of engagement photos?

I promise i'm not trying to sound like a jerk! I'm really curious. I think it would be fun for FH & I to do but I can't justify the expense in my head. Especially since our budget for the wedding is so tiny and is already stressing me out. And no, an engagement session isn't included with our...

I promise i'm not trying to sound like a jerk! I'm really curious.

I think it would be fun for FH & I to do but I can't justify the expense in my head. Especially since our budget for the wedding is so tiny and is already stressing me out. And no, an engagement session isn't included with our wedding photographer.

We are having a very small wedding and only doing very simple STDs for our out of town guests (like 10 ppl) so we don't need to add photos to that.

    FH and I didn't get engagement photos done and unfortunately we don't take many photos together. but we will have wedding photos and maybe in the future we will do more once kids are in the picture. (No pun intended).

    I just did it to have some memory of the engagment. My friends took pictures so we didn't spend money. It does help to see how you come out in pictures and how to pose.

    Even though we've been together nearly 6 years, we have like 3 pictures that aren't selfies and none that weren't taken on an iPhone. Our epics were included in our package and I'm so glad we did them. It's really nice to have quality pictures of us and I loved getting to know our photographer before the wedding

    Thanks guys!! I'm going to see if I can find someone that may time them for us. I'd love to have some pics that aren't selfies Smiley smile
