What's the name of this bustle style?

Nessa, on March 11, 2017 at 7:05 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 32

I found the picture on google, but can't find others like it and don't know the name for this bustle technique is. Has anyone had something like this done to their dress?

That looks amazing! I hope someone knows what it is called to help us all out! If nothing else, I am sure you could bring the picture into the bridal store and one of the consultants could assist you.

LOLOL it's the only bustle I've seen that I've actually liked. I know they're necessary, but I really hate the way most look.

That's plan b @teamgrz but I wish I had a name so I could google more like that.

I did a little snooping around on google and I think it's called a "ballroom bustle" the photos of that I found are like that, the bustle is supposed to create the look of a skirt without the train, kind of like camouflaging it. if there is anything name for it or if I am wrong please let me know! Smiley smile

    ETA words are hard.

Thanks ladies! When I google both ballroom bustles and the names in @mzkiwi's link, i get so many mixed results. :-/

When I go back to the boutique to get bridesmaid dresses next month, I'll ask te seamstress, and update the post if we don't get anything before then.

The ballroom bustle had outside hooks and it's more visible.

Ballroom bustles are pinned up underneath the skirt to act as a temporary hem of sorts. I believe what the picture is showing is a single point over bustle.

Found a picture on google after searching "over bustle" there are probably multiple anchor points to keep the main point flat and so the sides "swoop" correctly

ETA- app isn't letting me attach photo

Wtf why didn't I know this existed?!? I had to go French bustle on mine and to be honest I don't love it on my crepe dress. So so sad I didn't ask about this style.

When I looked up ballroom bustle it looked the most similar to what you showed. The American bustle is on top where that one is tucked under. Probably similar anchor points, but with a layer that hides them
