What’s for dinner?

Drea, on February 3, 2022 at 11:26 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 3 3
Planning on having a potluck dinner (buffet style) for our wedding but can’t decide what food to have? Need things that aren’t to expensive but will feed a crowd. Also want there to be a variety. Any ideas what we should put on the menu?

Pasta dishes are the best way to go. Noodles, sauces, and meat choices (meatballs, chicken for alfredo, etc), then salad and bread. Done!

A potluck is where guests bring their own homemade food. Is this your intention? Have you been to a potluck wedding reception that was successful?

Drop off catering from your favorite local restaurant is the cheapest. It prevents the DIY that is not feasible for traveling guests who just want to relax and have fun and appeases the health department that says the caterer must be licensed.

Do you and fiancé have a favorite casual restaurant you go for date night or just because? Mexican, Chinese, Asian, etc. They are used to catering for large groups even if they don’t advertise it. Your favorite Chinese restaurant as an example will put together large pans of various menu items that you order. They deliver them to your venue and set up over chafing dishes and burners. Guests can either serve themselves buffet style or you can hire staffing on thumbtack.com. That way your guests don’t work, they they can relax and you don’t need to worry about is the food safe? Is there enough of it? And so on.
