What's changed?

Sweet'N'Rhodes, on January 6, 2020 at 11:17 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

I thought this could be a fun thread to start.

Our honeymoon won't likely be anything too exotic, as FH has a funny dog who doesn't like his parents, so guess who will be joining us for our first married couples holiday. Smiley xd

What plans or ideas did you have for your wedding or honeymoon that you have since had to change, and why?

We actually had to change our wedding date. Our original date was for May 3, 2020. We found out that my brother-in-law (sister's husband, also one of our groomsman) is getting deployed in March. We didn't want him to miss the wedding, but we definitely didn't want to wait another year until he got back in January 2021. Thankfully all of our vendors were able to reschedule us for our new date, February 23, 2020. Moving the wedding up two and a half months definitely caused a hustle in my planning, but it's working out so far! We also changed our honeymoon from a Bahamas cruise to a cabin in NC Smiley smile

Our whole wedding got changed! We planed a big wedding in a barn in Washington but between us moving, and the venue getting shut down we are now doing a 24 person intimate ceremony and reception In the desert. It’s been a wild ride

I wanted a beach wedding but we moved it closer to home so that my grandpa could attend. No regrets Smiley smile family is way more important than any location

I think so much of my wedding ended up being different from what I originally wanted or envisioned for myself and it wasn't a bad thing. It was just so that logistics would be better. For instance i preferred if the ceremony and cocktail hour and reception were in one location but that didn't really workout well with the type of food we wanted and the need to have the ceremony specifically at our church.

H and I were originally going to have a courthouse wedding, but we decided to have a traditional church one instead. Had no clue how much work and money we would be investing into the church wedding! It paid off in the end, but we wish we stuck with the original plan

We thought we were getting married in the church, because DH is Catholic.

Long story short... we did NOT. (I'm very glad we didn't.)

Had long hoped to do a European honeymoon, but changed it to Disney/Universal for a *lot* of reasons, and are perfectly happy about it.

We originally wanted 10/10/20 as our date (Saturday) but as soon as I started planning, in May 2019, we quickly found out basically every venue we wanted to look at was already booked! We ended up finding a place we love that was available on the 11th, so we went with that.

Also, when talking about honeymoon ideas, I wanted somewhere tropical. My FH said he would not go back to Jamaica bc he hated it the one time he went there on a cruise. Guess where we booked?? LOL. Our travel agent talked it up so much, and told him everyone she knows who hated Jamaica went there on a cruise, and we are now so excited to visit! All inclusive resort in Negril for nine days Smiley love
