What would you do if a guest wore her white wedding dress at your wedding party?

I was the part of discussion when I heard that a guest was asking to attend a wedding party wearing her white gown. Just wondering if this happens to someone's wedding what they will do?

Same here! If someone wore white, I honestly wouldn't care...BUT - BUT - if they wore jeans or something super casual, I would definitely take note and remember said person. On my wedding website, I had "hide your jeans, hide your flip flops - formal attire is requested, please." I ended up removing that line because I didn't want to be petty (but I'm thinking it). LOL.

It’s sad but some people love attention. It doesn’t matter if it’s negative they just have it.

I would be annoyed, but I wouldn't do anything except focus on my and my FH and our day.

Add me to the "do nothing" crowd. I mean, seriously, what would there be to do that wouldn't make you ruder than the original perceived rudeness?

I do get being mildly annoyed, but I do NOT understand spending any time worrying about this in advance. But, I acknowledge that everyone has different priorities.

OMG that is so over the top. How does someone in a lighter color (close to white/beige/etc) affect your wedding day in any way.

I think brides need to find something better to do than police the outfits of people who attend the event. Put me in the do nothing camp.

Yikes- to say what? …… "Hello, you are wearing white so you must leave immediately?". Realistically the person won't have a change of clothes with them... so I imagine you will be having the coordinator ask them to leave? That's really sad.

None of my guests would ever do that, so I don't need to worry about it.

But if a guest wore an elaborately beaded and lace ivory ball gown or some elaborate dress with a train to my wedding, everyone would just think it was so weird. I wouldn't have to do anything about it because I'm sure someone else would. However if a guest wants to wear a modern dress that happens to be in the ivory, white, champagne color family I don't think I'd care.

The original post was what would you do if someone showed up in a WEDDING GOWN. I would absolutely escort that person to the door for being so uncouth. And for the people who still to this day haven’t gotten the memo that YOU DONT WEAR WHITE TO WEDDINGS, it’s still extremely rude.

Well Zara! Great question... for me i am an older bride and I WILL NOT be wearing white, therefore if someone did where white It would not phase me. However for younger brides I would find it a bit disrespectful and I probably would be very upset ( not the case again), I would not say a world just in case they were trying to get a rise out of me. Kill them with kindness, forgive but don't forget.
