What was a headache during planning?

MissMeMeToU, on July 26, 2017 at 5:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 21

What was the biggest headache for you during wedding planning? Mines were several things:

My FMIL telling me her friends sent the RSVP back and they said that they don't understand why their RSVP said one when they are bringing their grown daughter, daughter husband, two son (me and FH do not know the extra people btw)

The seating chart. its getting to the point where im about to say except for immediate family, every man for themselves..lol

    So so many headaches:

The guest list (and people adding to it when they weren't supposed to)

The linen guy took almost three weeks to make an appointment with me (I would have moved on but he does linens for the venue we have)

    Getting RSVPs in time

And if I had a dollar for every opinion about my wedding that I did not ask for, we would have our wedding paid off by now

We are almost there though September brides! Smiley smile

@Carolyn OMG that guest list too!

I went to a rental place for my linens after doing some research and I still have to call people to ask if they got their invitation or send their rsvp back because apparently the postal service delivered 50 of the 75 invitations that I sent out...those invitations were $600!

yep we are almost there! its coming up FAST!

Guest list- FMIL wanted to invite so many people irrelevant to FH and I.

Venue- the coordinator who booked our wedding was great. Then they hired someone new and she was horrible to us. If she was there originally, we would never have chosen the venue. That's how rude she was.

Definitely the guest list and addressing out my STDs so far. Our families are huge, so that leaves little room to invite friends, and it was a huge pain getting everyone's correct full names and addresses.

So far, it's hiring a transportation vendor. I've sent out several requests for quotes with specific details about the event, like how many people I need to transport. One responded with an "example" quote for 60 people, even though I told them I had 100 people. The other just responded "$1,000" with a photo of a party bus - no details on what that $1,000 included. Neither of them responded when I requested more info, so I'm hiring a third vendor -- mainly because their communication was better.

@24KMagicWed That guest list gets EVERYBODY lol

@FutureMrsW yes! I hated having to get everyones names and addresses, and I had a couple of people tell me " well I am not sure who I am bringing as my plus one yet, can I tell you the day before the wedding?" umm no, the day before the wedding im trying to get my thoughts together

@RockyMtnBride That's crazy you had to go through that! My uncle has a nice car so he will be taking me from the hotel to the venue (He is like my father figure). I had a caterer quote me $8000 for 150 people with no menu choices nothing

@Kate oh wow, yeah I had a lot of "so my toddler cant come?" and them making me feel guilty because I myself have a toddler (she is my mini bride) and then I have people saying that they cant sit by this person, etc thank God for FH and his calmness through my bridezilla moments lol

My first invitation person, my menu tasting, FMIL in general, make up trials, finding shoes, FSIL, BM dresses inside Alfred Angelo as they were closing, jewelry, finding my wedding band. What hasn't been a headache? Lol

My biggest headache has been setting up room blocks - this is the one thing that I thought would be easy. My invitations were also a pain, they looked beautiful but my invitation person made a few mistakes (address mistakes, nothing that could be ignored) that caused some of the envelopes to be reprinted so I had to wait for them to be sent a second time. Thankfully no RSVP issues so far ... BUT we are only a couple of weeks in and the RSVP date is September 1st so there is still plenty of time LOL.

For me the biggest headaches are the guest list and cutting back on the personal shopping I usually do for myself because of paying for the wedding

Cutting back on the guest list

Explaining to FH that if he extends an invite to his friend then the friend's wife has to be invited too

    Anything guest related. Lol

My mom texted me earlier and asked if i had any STDs left. I sent her a side eye emoji and asked why?! She said " Because ______ (insert uninvited guest name here) already bought her dress for the wedding so we should probably add her to the list" *eye roll*

Oh and magically everyone keeps texting us asking when can they start RSVPing. * Note we have not sent out invitations only STD*

They better be this eager to RSVP when the time comes! Lol

I am not happy with my bridal make up (just the eye shadow). I am giving the make up artist a second shot on 8/12 but if that doesn't work then im done trying.

FMIL with a small number of things, mostly the Guest List, but enough for FH and I to get frustrated and throw our hands in the air.
